Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year!

Welcome Pre-K Families!

I am very excited and looking forward to this 2015-2016 academic school year! I wanted to take this time to mention a few reminders for the first day of school, this Wed. 7/29.

Drop off in the morning can be anytime between 7am-8am in the 3's classroom, Rm. 40. It is the room that directly adjoins ours. This week only, both lead teachers (Ms. Crowl & Ms. Sandoval) will be supervising the morning and noon drop offs/pick ups until 6pm.

Starting on Monday, Aug. 3rd, Ms. Sandoval and the Pre-k assistants will be supervising in the morning in Rm. 40 from 7am-8am, and Ms. Crowl will be coming in at 8am to transition the students over to our regular classroom by 8:15am. If you are dropping off after 8:30am, be aware that we begin morning group time promptly at 8:30am and your child may miss important content if they come later than that!

I will also be supervising the aftercare program daily in our room, Rm. 42, until 5pm, and Ms. Paskins who is an assistant that helps all throughout the school, will be doing aftercare from 5pm-6pm daily if your child happens to stay until that time.

Parents may drive in through the Polk St. entrance on the side of the school, and must park and bring their child in through the white side gates. Assist your child in putting up their water bottles, lunch boxes, backpack, and nap items in the correct areas each day. Also, do not forget to sign them in using the folder by the front door! Any extra sets of clothes you have brought must have your child's name labeled clearly on the front, and you may put it in the green bathroom bins under the sink in our Pre-K bathrooms.

Each day you must make sure to sign your child in and out in the folder by the front door, as well as check your child's homework folder daily for any important forms and papers to send home.

I have attached to this email our class schedule, and things to bring the first day of school, which many of you received at our ILP conference last week. Make sure to double-check everything your child needs for the first day!

I know the first day of school is always difficult, but rest assured that your child will be surrounded by wonderful new friends, as well as teachers that are fully invested in their happiness and growth. My assistant Ms. Lopez, the entire Pre-K team, and myself especially will strive to make their time spent at school a fun and exciting learning experience!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns, and I look forward to a wonderful first week!

Best,
Ms. Cierra Crowl
